Paisley’s popular music, comedy and arts festival The Spree is back for its 10th year with a thrilling line-up for 2022.
Live events will take place in the iconic Salon Perdu Spiegeltent at the town’s Bridge Street from Thursday 1 – Saturday 10 September, promising a fantastic 10-day programme for gig-goers.
The opening Saturday (3 September) will see the Spiegeltent host an all-day festival within a festival with local charity LNP Promotions popular ModStuff celebrations, featuring brilliant Mod and Northern Soul acts – and the famous scooter ride out.
Paisley’s own Gerry McGuire will be DJ for ModStuff, playing the best in Mod, Northern Soul and R&B all day and evening in the Spiegeltent. Say ‘hello’ and ‘thanks’ to Gerry for coming back as DJ at ModStuff – it’s a long shift and we appreciate all he does on the day!
Start! were formed in January 2016, brought together by a love of all things relating to Mod. They play a fantastic set of tunes from The Small Faces, The Kinks, 60’s soul and tunes from the Mod revival of the late 70s.
Start! have been building their reputation with plenty of gigs around Glasgow, Ayrshire and Renfrewshire. Most of the band come from the Paisley area and are delighted to be playing Modstuff in their home town.
Dexy’s Tribute Band are the world’s only Dexy’s Midnight Runners tribute band. This is not a couple of guys with midi-files, this is a full -blown, 8-piece HUGE sound, faithfully re-creating the halcyon days of all incarnations of Kevin Rowlands imagination including a 3 piece horn section, banjo, accordion, organ, piano, guitar, bass, fiddle, and drums.
Once seen never forgotten, with a fistful of songs that will take you back to the days when you were Searching For the Young Soul Rebels! Now for the caper.
The Absolute Jam possess the same uncanny sound and vibrancy of The Jam while playing a full range of songs from the band’s back catalogue. With everything from In The City, Going Underground, Town Called Malice, Eton Rifles & The Modern World to some album tracks and B sides, they are guaranteed to please both the avid Jam fan as well as those only familiar with the hits. This is one show you do not want to miss. That’s Entertainment!

“The Spree attracts music fans from across the country to enjoy our live events and everything that Paisley has to offer. It always brings a great atmosphere and real festival feel to the town – and we can’t wait to welcome gig-goers along for ten days of brilliant shows in the famous Spiegeltent.
“This year’s festival will take place in September, along with Spree for All fringe festival events in Renfrewshire’s towns and villages – but we also look forward to hosting our Wee Spree programme of activities for kids and families again during the October school holidays. We’ll have more exciting news to come on all of these in the coming weeks!”
